A passion for wildlife, and a love for coffee.

I Grew Up Playing Outside, With Lizards and Bugs.

Visiting zoos, aquariums, science museums, exploring the outside world. As we enter an age of technology becoming more and more involved in our daily lives, the reminder to go outside and be in nature becomes even more important. We risk losing connection to the outdoors, and understanding the animals that are right in our own backyards, and how important it can be to preserve wildife- big or small.

"Of all the questions which can come before this nation, short of the actual preservation of its existence in a great war, there is none which compares in importance with the great central task of leaving this land even a better land for our descendants than it is for us."

- Teddy Roosevelt, 26th U.S President

Smoky Morning Co was founded on the basis of making protecting wildlife as simple as supporting a local artist, or supporting a local coffee shop.

With a commitment to community, quality, and sustainability above all else in all products that are offered.

NC Is Home to 5 Million Acres of Public Lands

There is pride in belonging to North Carolina. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is the #1 visited National Park in the United States, and we boast salamander species found nowhere else on Earth. Having 18.7 million acres of forests, with 1.25 million of those acres residing in national forests, our state homes thousands of species of wildlife. All in which, need protecting.

And I Get It, Sometimes the Outdoors Can Be “Boring”

Its not always as entertaining as the being on our TV, phones, etc. Often times infographics can be a lot to read, learning about wildlife not as “fun”. Which is why I’ve committed myself to coming up with artwork that hopefully is not only entertaining, but teaches you something about wildlife maybe you never knew. All in a digestible way, for all ages.

Did you know the American Black Bear eats acorns for their fat content, and Yellow Jacket’s for protein? We often think of bears as being honey lovers, but really, they’re raiding hives for the protein content the insect inhabitants offer!

Because to Me, Wildlife Isn’t as “Boring” When You Understand It

And I hope through that, it will inspire you to go explore what our public lands offer. And who knows! Maybe see the same wildlife I depict on your own adventures. Just don’t forget to grab a cup of coffee for the drive :)
